Digital Magazine for Tablet Devices

Being a magazine lover, I used to wonder why anyone would want to buy a digital version of their favourite magazine, when they could just buy the print version of it - until I realized what the digital format has to offer! Digital magazines deliver the same material as print‚ with extra features like video, audio and live links, for a tablet device. The story is no longer just a story, it's an actual experience.
I created a digital version of Events magazine, using the digital publishing suite of InDesign. I produced an experience according to each individual story.
For 'a Taste of Paris', the story suggests changing the photographs depending on the theme of the party. I used object states to change the pictures within the picture frame. The user simply achieves this by swiping on the tablet device, as prompted by the article.
This can also be used to make static ads come to life! In the case of the Spaw Boutique ad, the 'magic mirror' shows the dog looking at herself in various poses. The Williams Sonoma ad also has an element of surprise when the user swipes the 'chalk' away to reveal an anticipated sale. The user feels connected with the brand, and can then click on a link to the company's website to make a purchase.
